I want to support small British firms (I don't even know if PowerBee are British or indeed small, I'm just making assumptions (I hope I'm wrong)), I want to do something positive for the environment (did I check how they were made... no, did I check what they were made of...no; clearly I'm not doing too well on the research front), I want to believe other reviewers (I did read all the reviews posted prior to the 12 June 2011), so I bought two.

First of all they are very simple to set up and I left them in the sun for two days to fully charge, then turned them on. I placed them pointed away from the house towards a small pond just to see what effect could be had from reflecting light off the water.

So I waited for dusk (they are meant to turn on automatically), but nothing appeared to happen, so I waited a bit more, still nothing, then curiosity got the better of me and I wandered round to have a look and... yes they were both on. At this point I breathed out a... Read more

I bought these lights to do exactly what the Powerbee spiel says, to illuminate small/medium shrubs from up to 30ft. What a disappointment. These feeble lights cast a shadowy glow and even in the darkest hours could not possibly be described as "spotlights". At first I had to look at the LEDs to make sure they were working as this was not possible from the other side.

I also had looked through the reviews for information on solar lights. I wanted one that would shine on my water feature, didnt want a security solar light which a lot of them seem to be, so I was very pleased when I saw the Powerbee solar garden spotlight which seemed to be just what I wanted to highlight the water feature. I purchased this through Amazon, I have purchased lots of things through Amazon so I knew it would be ok. Ordered on Monday (I think) and came within a couple of days. I was very pleased with this light, it shows up the water feature lovely. I have positioned it on the top of the fence so it shines down onto the feature. I would definitely recommend this light to anyone. I have purchased cheaper models but there is no comparison with Powerbee Solar Light, and I would definitely recommend them and purchase from them again.
